The basic uses of a, an and the ການນຳໃຊ້ໂດຍພື້ນຖານ

1) ໃຊ້ an ກັບຄຳນາມນັບໄດ້ຈຳນວນໜ້ອຍທີ່ຂື້ນຕົ້ນດ້ວຍສຽງ a, e, i, o, u ເຊັ່ນ:

    an apple                an egg                   an ice cream

    an umbrella          an hour                  an open door

2) ໃຊ້ a ກັບຄຳນາມນັບໄດ້ຈຳນວນໜ້ອຍທີ່ຂື້ນຕົນດ້ວຍພະຍັນຊະນະເຊັ່ນ:

    a dog                     a cat                       a book

    a table                   a computer             a house

3) ໃຊ້ the ກັບຄຳນາມທີ່ສະເພາະເຈາະຈົງເຊັ່ນ:

    the boy in front of you

    I have a computer in my room.  I bought the computer in 2015.

# ຂໍ້ຄວນລະວັງ!

1) ບໍ່ຄວນໃຊ້ the ກັບປະເທດຫລືເມືອງ

    I live in the Vientiane.   I live in Vientiane

    He is from the China.    He is from China.

2) ບໍ່ຄວນໃຊ້ the ກັບສິ່ງຂອງໂດຍທົ່ວໄປ

    She likes the pizza.   She likes pizza.

    She likes the pizza from Thida's restaurant.
