The Simple Sentence ປະໂຫຍກທຳມະດາ

 The simple sentence ແປວ່າປະໂຫຍກທຳມະດາ ເຊິ່ງກິຣິຍາຫລັກພຽງຕົວດຽວ.  ລອງສຶກສາເບິ່ງໂຄງສ້າງຂອງປະໂຫຍກລຸ່ມນີ້:

1.​  Subject + Verb

     The president has arrived.

     It rains.

ຄຳກິຣິຍາໃນຮູບແບບນີ້ເອີ້ນວ່າ ກຳມະຄົບ (intransitive verb) ເຊັ່ນ: arrive, die, rise, rain...  ຄຳກຳມະຄົບບໍ່ມີຕົວກຳມາຮອງຮັບກໍມີຄວາມໝາຍຄົບຖ້ວນແລ້ວ ໃນວັດຈະນານຸກົມເພິ່ນໝາຍດ້ວຍ (v.i).

2.  Subject + Verb + Object

      She eats an apple.  

      He wears a black suite. 

ຄຳກິຣິຍາໃນຮູບນີ້ເອີ້ນວ່າ ກຳມະຂາດ (transitive verb) ເຊັ່ນ: eat, sell, wear...  ເຊິ່ງຕ້ອງມີຕົວກຳມາຮອງຮັບ (object).

3.  Subject + Verb + Complement

     Your shirt is nice.

     She becomes a nurse.

ຄຳກິຣິຍາໃນຮູບແບບນີ້ສ່ວນຫລາຍຈະເປັນ Linking verbs ເຊັ່ນ: be, seem, look, become, get... ເຊິ່ງ Complement ນັ້ນອາດຈະເປັນ Noun ຫລື Adjective ກໍໄດ້.

4.  Subject + Verb + Adverbial 

      The football match is tomorrow evening.

      We got on the train.

Adverbial ອາດຈະເປັນວະລີຄຳກິຣິຍາວິເສດ (tomorrow evening), ວະລີຄຳບຸຜາບົດ (on the train) ຫລືວະລີຄຳນາມກໍໄດ້.

5.  Subject + Verb + Object + Object

     The boss gives bonus.

     He buys her a bunch of flowers.

bonus ແລະ a bunch of flowers ເອີ້ນວ່າກຳກົງ (direct objects) ສ່ວນ her ເອີ້ນວ່າກຳຮອງ (indirect object)

6.  Subject + Verb + Object + Complement

     The new projects keep us busy.

7.  Subject + Verb + Object + Adverbial

     We put our bags on the table

     The police got the car out of the road.

on the table ແລະ out of the road ຄື Adverbial.
